The following projects were built Alongside the talented team of engineers, developers, fabricators, and strategists at Deeplocal in Pittsburgh, PA.


Internet of Things Blueprints / Creative & Strategic Direction

Twilio / Deeplocal, 2016

We assessed a series of industry verticals, and brought three IoT devices for those industries to life.

after defining the problem space with user journey and system maps, we designed three modular SIM-connected prototype devices, along with tutorials on their construction.


Netflix Switch at Maker Faire / Creative Direction

Netflix / Deeplocal, 2015

Deeplocal took Netflix to Maker Faire in 2015 for the release of the Switch. The Switch is an open source device that Immediately dims the lights, silences your phone, orders takeout, and starts playing Netflix with the press of a button.

As the Creative Lead for its debut at Maker Faire, I directed the design and creation the booth, An exploded model of the switch, printed collateral, and infographics that were featured by Quartz, Engadget, and others.


Genius Board / Ix Design & Illustration

National Geographic Channel / Deeplocal, 2017

To promote the National Geographic Einstein biopic “Genius,” Deeplocal built a robotic chalkboard that drew Twitter-submitted selfies in Einstein’s own equations.

I worked with the software engineering team to combine the desired user experience and tech solutions with the constraints of the Twitter platform, and communicated the final approach to the client.


Cannes Ad Lab Table / Hardware & IX Design

Spotify / Deeplocal, 2017

We worked with the Spotify ad sales team to build an experience that gave potential customers the opportunity to make their own insight-driven audio advertisements.

I directed the design, engineering, and fabrication of a table that housed six experience stations, drawing inspiration from vintage channel mixers for a physical interface that controlled the software.


Freeform Social DNA / Creative Direction

ABC Family Channel / Deeplocal, 2016

To celebrate ABC Family Channel’s relaunch as Freeform, we offered fans a reading of their unique social media personalities, and created a one-of-a-kind 3D design based on the results. By tweeting with the hashtag #FreeformLaunch, users were given an animated design in one of 5 styles, with select fans receiving an additively-printed wearable of their design.

I led a team of generative programmers to create the wearable design languages, hone the user experience, and install the live launch event.

George Scott for Congress / Visual Design & Strategic Direction

I served as a designer and strategist for George Scott’s congressional campaign in the Pennsylvania 10th- creating social graphics and animations, policy explainers, and candid photography that bolstered the campaign’s digital presence ahead of the 2018 midterms.
